Don\u2019t panic \u2013 there\u2019s a few things you can try to get your computer going again and if those don\u2019t work we\u2019re here to help.<\/p>\n<p><strong>NOTE: If your computer isn\u2019t booting up, smells weird and\/or is making a high-pitched noise, unplug it immediately and call us before trying anything else. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>First, make sure it\u2019s plugged in. We know, that\u2019s kind of a given, but you never know if something may have caused the power cord to come loose from the wall or from the machine itself.<\/p>\n<p>You should also check the power button on your surge protector, in case it got bumped into the off position. Many desktops have a power switch on the back of the tower \u2013 make sure that is in the \u2018on\u2019 position as well.<\/p>\n<p>If nothing happens, try plugging your computer directly into the wall instead of the surge protector. While surge protectors are recommended, this is a quick way to make sure the problem is originating from the PC and not your surge protector. If your computer turns on this time, then you\u2019ll need to purchase a new surge protector.<\/p>\n<p>Next, check the power cable itself.
